Christmas light adventure, a bottle of pepsi, and ducks (Part 1)

So we know that most adventures start of in the simplest of ways. Ours (B, Jay's and My own) started off with me trying to figure out how to use Jay's camera, and taking numerous pictures of a bottle of pepsi. Point, aim, click, is not on this camera's agenda I tell you. It was such a drama, but it was fun to work out. Eventually, the cam got figured out and we were off on our way to our Great Big Annual Christmas Light Adventure .

Our first port of call was the el-cheapo Bistro down at the footy club near my place. As always, the food was delicious, and we had a wonderful time stuffing ourselves. I mean seriously, who wouldn't? - The food is cheap, the food is nice, the food is filling. I had some veal thingy - I can't remember what it was called. I was sad because they didn't have the veal scallopini that I love so much, but hey, beggars can't be choosers, and it was still delicious. B and Jay opted for their Chicken Schnitzel with chips and gravy - seriously, they're not hard to please are they? By the end of it, we were all a little bit full and were about ready to let the top buttons loose, just for some relief. I figured that'd be a bad idea, considering my pants would probably fall down around my ankles, and dudes, serious, that's not what people want to be seeing while they're eating their meals. I know I wouldn't!
So, we wonder, what to do? What to DO??!! We decide we're going to tour the new estates (boring), see what's happening (not much), how much has changed from last year (lots). While we were driving, we came across a family of ducks crossing - this led to a great big discussion on the Ibis that live at the pond near my place. Yeah, there are Ibis, I know coz I've seen pictures in story books. Shut up. So we decide to go and find the Ibis - more than anything because I wanted to take pics of them to show EvilMe that they really ARE Ibis and not some sort of demented Stork (He thinks I'm insane. I think I've told you this before.) It was here, where the Ibis live, that we found three of the friendliest ducks in the world. We named them Donald (the white guy) Mac (The dark guy down the bottom) and Percy (the one off in the background - not that you can see, but Percy has a mohawk.) We were watching them swim around when they all started towards us. Funny how B and Jay ran and pretty much hid behind me when they saw them coming. You could tell these guys were tame though, they just walked right up looking for food and a hello. We had a lot of fun (god, is that sad?) with them. Donald is a true camwhore though. We got some hilarious pics of him, just well, being a duck I guess. I don't know what else ducks do! By this time, we were starting to turn blue - the wind had picked up, and even I was beginning to feel the cold! So, because it was still too light to go to the Christmas-Tree-Light-Farm, we went off on a jaunt thru the lovely streets (hahah sarcasm much?) of St Albans. We couldn't see many houses with lights up, so we just cruised. Which was when we saw THE CAR. holy crap this car was nice, the only problem was, while we were trying to chase this car down and take pics of it, we saw a Double Decker bus on the other side of the median strip, and we had dilemmas. Do we stop chasing the car on the back of the trailer in favor of the bus? or chase the car and then go back for the bus? We decided to take a quick pic of the car, chuck a U-turn at the next set of lights, and then go snap a pic of the double decker bus. Only, by the time we got back to the servo that we'd seen the bus at, it was gone. The hunt was on, we looked thru three other suburbs to find this bus. How the fuck do you lose a Double Decker bus? I have no idea, but we managed to. I said to Jay later in the evening (skipping ahead a bit here, but it's my blog, so who are you to argue?) that I'd love to see the Double Decker broken down on the side of the road, just so I can pull over, take a pic, and then drive off again. I know that's mean and horrible, but I just want a fucking picture of that bus!

The christmas lights and all that come in the next installment!
